Anthony is Co-Director of the international inclusive arts NGO, Epic Arts, based in Cambodia, where he has developed specialist knowledge in the engagement and employment of people with disabilities in the arts in Asia. In 2017 Anthony launched ‘We Are Epic’, a sister organisation to Epic Arts that offers consultancy work linking the SEA region with the UK arts and disability sector.
Anthony began his career as a musician before taking a role as assistant to the Artistic Director at Lichfield Garrick Theatre (UK) where he programmed shows with bands such as Kasabian and Biffy Clyro. In 2006, Anthony became Head of Music at Ingestre Hall Residential Arts Centre, developing educational music workshops for young people with behavioural difficulties.
In 2012 Anthony received Artists International Development funds from Arts Council England and British Council to develop his practice into Asia, relocating to Cambodia to work with Epic Arts in 2013. At Epic Arts, Anthony developed highly successful social enterprise business models, including the Epic Arts Café and Epic Encounters Dance Company that simultaneously bring together people with and without disabilities whilst financially supporting the educational elements of the organisation. Anthony played a major role in the remodelling of Epic Arts programmes and has rebranded the organisation both in Cambodia and online.
He has taken the lead on innovative projects that explore the potential of challenging attitudes towards disability in the country through mixed media projects and he supports the on-going professional development of the Cambodian managers at the organisation. Anthony has also cultivated new project partnerships throughout South East Asia with UNICEF, WaterAid and Aide et Action.
